Central Plaza Public Art Project
January 2026 – Ongoing
| Central Plaza Public Art
Located at the Northeast corner of Ponderosa Drive and Arneill Road, Camarillo, CA
A commission to create 10 metal plaques for Camarillo highlights the beauty and history of the city and surrounding area. These plaques depict historical sites, native wildflowers, and scenic vistas.
The project involved visiting local parks and scenic locations, consulting with botanists, historians, and local heritage organizations to gather reference materials and understand the significance of these sites to the community. The creative process began with woodcuts crafted in my studio, followed by a series of prints. These prints were then scanned and sent to a fabricator to be cast in metal, resulting in black on silver plaques with raised black areas for textural interest.
Explore these plaques at Central Plaza, visit the depicted sites, and celebrate the rich heritage and natural beauty of Camarillo.
